East Anglian Hand Meeting

We are thrilled to attend the East Anglia Hand Meeting, where we will delve into innovative approaches to orthoplastics. The event kicks off with an introduction to the Mid and South Essex Hand Unit’s orthoplastics approach leading into the first session will focus on pain in the upper limb, featuring talks on the surgical management of neuromas by Mr. Manu Sood and managing complex pain by Mr. Victor Mendis followed by a guide to CRPS by a senior hand therapist. The second session will cover anatomical reconstitution of the hand and wrist with patient-specific implants, including insights on distal radius and scaphoid, trauma implants by Mr. Adrian Chojnowski, and PIPJ replacements by Mr. Ian Trail. In the third session, exploration of minimally invasive techniques and arthroscopy, with presentations on endoscopic carpal tunnel release by Mr. Gregory Packer, wrist arthroscopy by Mr. Shahrier Sarker, US guided surgery by Alistair Phillips, and post-arthroplasty hand therapy. The final session will feature reflections on 20 years of practice by Mr. Andy Mckee and Mr. Ian Trail, recent changes in practice by Alistair Phillips, and a great debate on DRUJ replacement/UHR vs Darrachs. This comprehensive program promises to provide valuable insights and foster engaging discussions on the latest advancements in orthoplastics.
