We’re absolutely thrilled to be attending the 52nd Annual Research Meeting of the Combined Services Plastic Surgery Society (CSPSS) and the Combined Services Orthopaedic Society (CSOS) — the first joint gathering of these two distinguished military surgical societies.
It’s an incredible opportunity to exchange ideas with colleagues from across the UK, including serving Regular and Reserve officers, specialist nurses, retired Armed Services professionals, and civilian experts who share a passion for advancing defence surgery. With a rich programme of lectures, workshops, and discussions that cover both practical surgical techniques and the unique challenges of military medicine, we’re looking forward to learning, sharing, and collaborating.
We’re especially excited to engage with senior Defence Medical Services officers and esteemed guests from leading surgical associations, and to contribute to the ongoing success and innovation in military and NHS surgical practice.
This year’s meeting is being held at the Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds, a purpose-built national museum that opened in 1996 to house the UK’s collection of arms and armour. Located at Leeds Dock, the museum was designed to bring military history to life through immersive galleries, live combat demonstrations, and interactive exhibits. Its origins trace back to the Tower of London, and today it stands as a vibrant centre for historical education and cultural heritage.
